The AAUW Five Star Program

The Five Star National Recognition Program celebrates branches (and other AAUW organizations) for aligning their work with the AAUW strategic plan and other initiatives that foster the organizations’ mission of advancing gender equity for women and girls.

AAUW Capital (NV) Branch has received all 5 Stars –

Programs: Our Branch programs were related to our strategic plan and we completed the community resource mapping exercise.

Advancement: 90% of our members renewed their membership, and our branch giving to National shifted focus to the greatest needs area. Our branch giving exceeded the recommended $30 per capita.

Communications & External Relations: Our Branch website, Facebook and Twitter accounts were updated on a monthly basis. Work Smart Online is included on our website home page.

Public Policy & Research: Our Branch Public Policy Chair collaborates with the Nevada Public Policy chair. Our branch promotes Action Network sign-ups at public events.

Governance & Sustainability: Our Branch Strategic Plan aligns with state AND National strategic plans. Our branch adopted a succession plan.

Dear AAUW Capital (NV) Branch,

We hope you all are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. We at the National office are sending all our best as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 crisis.

We wanted to share some happy news with you: Your branch achieved all five stars in the Five Star Recognition Program. You have officially crossed the finish line as our fourth branch to receive all five stars across the entire AAUW membership network. You should be incredibly proud of this achievement!
